As a Hong Kong, Taiwan and China’s dealer of ROTREX Superchargers, SD Performance Co. can provide and design suitable, powerful, high performance ROTREX Supercharger kits and brackets for a variety of vehicles.

About Rotrex

Rotrex A/S is a technology driven company focused on providing leading solutions within forced induction systems for the automotive industry. The patented traction drive enables the Rotrex centrifugal supercharger to
achieve superior efficiency, reduced emissions, and improved transient response. This allows smaller size, lower noise and weight than that of competing products for applications within downsized engines, hybrid powertrains, fuel cell and performance vehicles.
1990 → Rotrex was formed.
1997 →
developed the Rotrex supercharger and sold it as prototypes for Original Equipment development in limited numbers to gain experience on functionality, reliability and to ease the product improvement process.  And since 1997, Rotrex has participated in the development of OEM supercharger application and grown its aftermarket supercharger business organically.
2000 → became a member of the A.P. Moller Group.
2003 →
a new structure is taking place for the aftermarket distribution of superchargers, whereby Rotrex superchargers are made available through the worlds leading performance companies.
2004 →
the company expanded its operation into a new headquarter facility in Copenhagen area of “Herlev”.  The new facility enabled expansion opportunities for both manufacturing and development activities, closely related to growth in sales and participation in new OEM supercharger projects with significant volume potentials.
Concept
Key to the Rotrex supercharger's unique compactness, efficiency, low noise and reliability is its state of the art traction drive technology.

Great speeds and low noise are just some of the advantages of traction drives over traditional gear transmissions. Traction drives transmit power through friction forces between its rolling elements.
Technology
The Rotrex patented traction drive uses an elastic annulus with a small pre-span to secure contact between the roller planets and the sun shaft with a reasonable force. The patented "ramp effect" increases efficiency and reliability in the transmission by regulating the torque transfer capability on demand through self-adjusting planet geometry.

To enhance performance, the Rotrex traction drive uses a special traction fluid. These fluids are a new family of synthetic hydrocarbon oils and greases offering a series of unique performance advantages. Developed specially for its use in Rotrex superchargers, the SX100 momentarily increases viscosity under high surface pressure, enhancing the traction drive performance by securing the optimum friction between rolling elements while cooling and protecting the system.

This traction drive combined with the latest technology in centrifugal compression, characterized by high adiabatic efficiency and low noise, gives Rotrex superchargers an exceptional competitive edge over any other forced induction solution.
Advantages
The traction technology inside every Rotrex supercharger demands extremely accurate components and assembly. The manufacturing of our superchargers is therefore highly developed, involving efficient quality control and supply chain management.

The key advantages of the patented traction drive design are:

  • Torque-on-demand
  • Speed up to 250,000 rpm
  • Efficiency up to 98 percent
  • Compactness
  • Reliability
  • Low NVH
  • Low cost
  • Product Overview
Rotrex standard product range consists of the C15, C30 and C38 families. The unique small size of the C15 makes it the most compact supercharger on the market. The C30 and C38 cover the market all the way up the large displacement engines.
Range Engine Capacity Engine Output * Max. Impeller Speed Gear Ratio
    C15 up to 2Lt Less than 50hp ~ 200hp 201,500 rpm 1 : 12.67
    C30 1Lt ~ 4.5Lt 100hp ~ 400hp 120,000 rpm 1 : 9.49
    C38 3Lt ~ 6Lt 300hp ~ 630hp 90,000 rpm 1 : 7.5
    * power output is a general guideline, achieved power is application dependent.
